It seems AIM listed securities are not available. Is this true, or did I not find the correct description of the market?

I see AIM is called SEATS. But it might indicate a problem on a different level: I have an existing watchlist, which I am currently in the process of entering symbol by symbol. However, it is sometimes unclear what the symbol for a specific stock is. For instance, Rolls Royce plc is "LON:RR." (with a dot after the RR), which is unusual. AIM listed securities were also not accessible as "LON:XXX", but "SEA:XXX". Therefore a symbol lookup function would be handy, but I cannot find it. I worked around this issue by having the screener list all securities of a specific exchange and than manually flipping through the pages until I found it, which worked most of the time, just not with AIM.

In an similar fashion: Adding Compagnie Financiere Richemont, which is listed in Switzerland on Virt-X, was a real challenge. It was neither available on VTX or SWF, but on Johannesburg Stock Exchange, which is hardly their primary listing. I found it after flipping through the whole database sorted by revenue. A symbol finder is really lacking. It seems like everything is there, but sometimes at a place you would not expect it to be.

Hi again Andreas,
I agree that a symbol finder would be great. To my knowledge in the past CFR was not often displayed in the screener on the Swiss Exchange (VTX:CFR)! My guess is that somewhere when Lenny is doing some automatic adjustments, primary and secondary exchanges got sorted wrongly. Let me know if you find other oddities or if you can't find other symbols. Maybe with some luck I could help. ![]() See ya |
