The description of "P/E excluding extordinary items-5 Year Average" and "Historic P/E Excluding Extraordinary Items, Avg. Diluted Shares Outstanding-5 Year Average" indicate they use two different calculations.
But looking at their values I can see they are the same.
If indeed they are the same, how are they calculated? (like the description of the first or the second field?)

I confirmed the numbers appear to be the same. I also downloaded the most recent data definitions spreadsheet from Reuters, and it contains the same definitions that we have on the website. These two data points come directly from Reuters Fundamentals.

It seems to me that the calculation described in "P/E excluding extordinary items-5 Year Average" is more representative (its also similar to how "P/E excluding extraordinary items-Low"(/High) are calculated)
Can we confirm with them that this is the formula used for both these fields?
