TOPIC: Difference between (A) and most recent fiscal year

Difference between (A) and most recent fiscal year 3 years, 6 months ago #186

What is the difference between EBIT(A) and EBIT - most recent fiscal year? It doesn't show the same value.

The "most recent fiscal year" values are not usually NULL. If the value is not known for the current period, Reuters returns the prior period value rather than a NULL. To maintain consistency in our own normalized financial statements, we return NULL values when one or more data points are missing for a period which has other data points available (i.e. after an 8-K but before a 10-Q or 10-K, when only some company selected data points are available).

My preference is to always use the financial statement variables when they are available.
