When one opens the start screen there are three boxes, left with possible screen arguments, then on right another box, I guess to monitor a list, but when I screen I get results in a very narrow box at the bottom - all along the webpage, but while it looks like I can scroll through it I CANNOT make it larger. Most webpages allow to size various boxes they may contain, but here I found no way, so the screener is pretty useless to me right from the word go, any suggestions?

You can use the Zoom Out function within your browser to make more room for the screener results at the bottom. In Chrome, you click on the three vertical dots in the upper right of the browser window, and click the minus sign "-" next to Zoom. You can do this as many times as needed.
