TOPIC: Incorporate TTM Non-normalized EBITDA

Incorporate TTM Non-normalized EBITDA 6 months ago #2730

I can't find a way to incorporate TTM non-normalized EBITDA. It looks like Current EV/EBITDA utilizes normalized EBITDA, and utilizing EBITDA(I), EBITDA(I-1), etc. won't work, because many of the companies don't report quarterly.

The easiest way to implement this would be to create two separate versions of your basic screen. One would have a condition:

Add Condition->Financial Statements->I->Period Type(I) = "Quarterly"

and the second would have the condition:

Add Condition->Financial Statements->I->Period Type(I) = "Semi-Annual"

You would then add the appropriate number of interim period values in your TTM EBITDA calculation.

A more robust solution would be to create an Advanced Variable for TTM EBITDA, which contains an IF statement that looks at the period type variable. That would let you create a single screen for both period types. However, if you are not knowledgeable about SQL, I would recommend the basic screen solution above.
