Hello fellow-men,
may you help me to get out of difficult situation please? I am on the last year of my education and I need to write thesis. As a topic I have chosen if investing strategy in undervalued stocks (market value per share < book value per share) is more succesfull then investing into market generally. To do that I have to find some of the stocks which were undervalued 1-2 years ago and see how they changed till now and compare with a market. Screener allows to find stocks which are undervalued now but is it possible for Screenr to look in the past and show me the results for the certain stock at 2018 year, for example? How may I do it? Best regards. |

We do not support backtesting; you can only screen the current market.

Even certain formula can't be created in a "Advanced screener" or "Free Form Condition"? Like "period -1" or "1 year ago"

We have historical financials but not historical daily pricing data. To calculate valuation/market performance over time, you need the historical pricing data too.

I see, thank you for explanation! I fell in love with your Screener, so sad that I have to find another soft. Taking in a mind your experience, may you please recommend where is better to run a backtesting? If you have some information of course

I do not know of any solution as robust and low cost as ours, which supports backtesting. I also know of no low cost service that can backtest international markets. Your school may offer you access to Bloomberg. That might be able to do what you are looking for.
