Is it possible to screen an individual company against its industry? For example, if I wanted to screen for companies that had TL/TA > their industry average, how would I go about doing that? I cannot even find a "TA/TL" variable anywhere in the vast list with the closest being variants on the TD/TA variable (which could work, but is not exactly what I want).

Any help, advice, direction-pointing would be great....

Alan,

We do not offer industry comparisons. However, you can use formulas in Screener.co to get to TA/TL (assuming you mean total assets to total liabilities). For the most recent period, it would be:

Total Assets(I) / Total Liabilities(I)

Total debt to total assets (TD/TA) in the most recent period would be:

Total Debt(I) / Total Assets(I)

To make either of them a condition, you would have to add the right hand side to make it an inequality.

If you need help implementing these formulas in your screen or view, please feel free to contact me via email for additional support.
