I meant to include this in my other post. What elements make up Enterprise Value? I'm asking because I'm looking to use a variable which defines it in this manner and am hopeful EV covers it. Though to be fair I could probably create a formula to cover it:

TEV = Market Capitalization + Short-term Debt + Long-term Debt + Preferred Stock Value – Cash and Short-term Investments .

Thank you!

Chris,

The Built in Enterprise Value is defined "as the Market capitalization plus the Net Debt." Presumably, this is:

Market Capitalization + Total Debt - Cash and Equivalents

It likely does not take into account Preferred Stock and Short Term Investments. You could, however, create your own formulaic variable or condition reflecting your preferred calculation.
