Hemir,

We use MySQL/MariaDB. Advanced custom variables can use most available functions that can be part of the first clause of a SELECT query and a WHERE clause. Advanced screens can use most available functions that can be part of a WHERE clause.

If you have a question about specific MySQL functions, feel free to post them, and I can respond to them individually.

NOTE: the original post has been edited. Variable functions must be usable in both WHERE clauses and the first clause of a SELECT query.
